Bout of Books Challenge #1.. Book Survey

Bout of Books

Monday’s challenge comes from writing my own fairy tale. This challenge is a book survey. I love surveys so I knew I had to do it. I know I’m a wee bit late and missed the giveaway. Oh, well. Here it goes anyway!

1. How do you organize your shelves?

By size and then by what I want to read first.
2. What is one of your favorite book that’s not in one of your favorite genres?

Harry Potter!!!!
3. What is the last 5 star book you read?

Girl Defective by Simmone Howell.
4. What book are you most excited to read during the read-a-thon?

A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall.
5. What book do you recommend the most?

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen.

Well, there you have it. Now, it’s your turn.:-) Just kidding.

Happy reading! Look out for my next challenge post!

Bout of Books Day 2 Update #1

Yesterday was quite an eventful day for me on the first day of Bout of Books. I locked myself out of my house. Way to go, Indie! Luckily, my library wasn’t too far from my house; and, I discovered my new favorite book Girl Defective by Simmone Howell. It’s a story about fifteen year old Australian Skylark Martin, her ten year old special needs brother who is uber adorable wearing a pig snout mask every day, and their Vinyl only music store owning dad. “It’s about life and death and grief and romance. All the good stuff.” I highly recommend it.

My Bout of Books…2015 Here I Go

As I have been UBER behind on all things blogging, reading, and such I’ve decided to participate in Bout of Books. I can’t tell you how excited I am that I was reminded of this event. I participated it in once before, I believe, and, if I remember correctly, had a blast. So, I’m doing it again. I’m hoping to reboot my reading mind and get back on that reading horse I so loved (although I hate horses. I really really do. LONG story!).

*****************************************************

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 11th and runs through Sunday, May 17th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 13 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

Goals:

What would a readathon be without goals?!? This year I am hoping to read at least four to six books. Boy, do I have some good ones lined up already! Will I share that with you? Hmmm…..I think I may keep it a secret. You’ll just have to read the updates. 🙂

My page goal is between 100-200 pages a day; with at least two to three hours spent reading. Can I do this? I sure hope I can! I picked books I’m super excited to read.

I’ll hopefully be participating in challenges and updating daily, so be on the look out for some fun posts from me. I know it’s been a while. This is a good way for us to reconnect.

Until then, happy reading and see you tomorrow when it officially begins! I’ll hopefully be writing a better welcome post with my first book and more. Stay tuned!

And, for all you mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day!
